As a member of the Texas State Task Force, we are
developing a plan for music therapists in our state to encourage
building relationships with our government officials. This is
one way to begin to seek state recognition. In the process we
have developed a couple of tools for MTs to use, one being a
Texas State Fact Sheet and another being a process in justifying
services (for instance in the CLASS program developments of last
Fall)...Not only could these be advocacy tools in speaking with
our legislators, but also for personal use (see attached fact
sheet) in doing in-services, talks, etc.
